Tubes

Kennedy got tubes Febuary 7th of this year.

Y'all that sweet baby endured 6 ear infections before I said "okay, that's enough, what's our next option."  I totally understand that you have to have so many in a row before insurance would cover it.  But, we were at the doctor seriously every month with an ear infection and the antibiotics just weren't touching it anymore.  Her body had gotten so used to everything Dr. Ellis gave us.

Once, I made that comment and he looked back at her chart he referred us to an ENT.  We saw Dr. Castillo on Tuesday of that week and we wanted to do it the next day, but was booked up.  So, Friday it was.  When he told us that he promised if we left and didn't get tubes she would have 6 more infections before the summer we knew she needed them.  Luckily it hadn't damaged her hearing!

He arrived at the Surgery Center that morning and thankfully it wasn't long before they took her back.  Here is a picture of her in her gown.

Bless it!  That baby needed a bow her her hair, because everyone was calling her a boy!  :)

Y'all that was seriously the quickest surgery ever know!  Momma went with us and we had enough time to go to the bathroom and sit down and check our phones before they called us back to tell us they were done.  Kennedy had a little rough time coming off the anesthesia but after about 30 minutes she was asleep.  She slept a good bit of the day away but after her nap she was ready to play.  She was really sensitive to noises that day, but it got better!

She hasn't had an ear infection since that day and we are so thankful!!!!  We can tell a change in her with how she feels, how much she talks and we couldn't be happier that we did it.

I can't wait to go see her Ped this month for her check up and tell him how good shes done.  He probably knows though since he hasn't seen us every month! Ha! :)
